Members of Congress, You are Public Servants, Listen to the Public!
I remember a long time ago hearing a politician say, “public service is the greatest thing you can do.” If it was so great why wouldn’t he do it for free, after all he called it “public service.” I thought to myself he wouldn’t be doing it if he wasn’t getting paid. They don’t get paid that much so why is it so great? That was not a hard one to figure out. They get elected as middle class and they leave office rich.
They say all the right things to get elected, once elected they turn their backs on the voters. They no longer answer to the public and the new motto is how much can I get for myself. It happens all the time. When was the last time you saw a politician retire poor? One thing for sure is they always stop listening to the public until it is time for re-election. During this time you hear all that they say they have done but when you look around you see that nothing has changed. Once again great words but no action.
How quick they violate their oath to the people and the Constitution when money or power is involved for them. They attack their constituents and the American people if anyone dares to question their integrity. I have news for them, they are politicians, they have no integrity. As soon as they get elected they learn how to spin everything to their favor and try to destroy anyone that shows their hypocrisy and failures. You call their office, they don’t respond. You send them an email, they might send you an auto response thank you. You can ask them questions publicly, they have their security detail remove you. They answer to no one but the corporate and individual donors that paid for their campaign. This is the way it has been for many years and it is not going to change. Politicians are bought and paid for by special interest groups, individuals and corporation. Every week you read stories of how politicians are helping or have helped donors with contracts, special positions, funding and more. Why would they listen to the petty voter who has nothing to give them financially. They use to try to show some sort of need during election time but nowadays they don’t need you anymore. The way elections are run today the voting public does not have a say in who wins the election. The rest of the country is following California’s lead. The fix is in and it is not one sided, both Democrats and Republicans are involved. That is why there are no decent investigations into voting irregularities.
They stop listening to the public as soon as they are sworn in and do whatever they want. They have a new definition for “public service” and that is for the public to serve them. That’s the way it is. We elect them, we pay them and they screw us. That’s politics and public service today.
